Dear Friends,
With Advent now here and Christmas coming along behind it, I’d like to share with you once
again the details of our annual Quiet Christmas Cheer program.
This year, we’re sponsoring a family of five: anmom, dad, and three sons, ages 13, 10 and 7.
Some of you have expressed some concern that, given the rather “general” nature of the
size/gift list, there might be a danger of one or more of the boys being overlooked and
perhaps not receiving as much as his siblings. Let me reassure you that, in the seven years
since we began this program, that has NEVER happened. I tend to give credit for that to the
Holy Spirit, who has a way of directing our own actions in regard to the needs of others,
but one way or another our QQC families have alway  been very thankful for all that you have
done for them.
Please remember that gifts of cash or gift cards also welcome, and a portion of your cash
donations will go toward purchasing a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. A Christmas tree will be set up in the parish hallbnext week, to provide a convenient place forbyou to bring your QQC contributions. I’d like to ask that all contributions be brought to the
church by the Fourth Sunday in Advent,bDecember 22. This will give us a day or two to
coordinate with the family, and to make anybneeded last-minute arrangements that might
be required.bFollowing is the size/gift list for this year.
Additional copies are also available in the narthex of the church.
Once again, thank you for all that you

Some Prayers for the Season of Advent:
O God of all hope, we thank you for all your
promises which find their fulfilment in your
Son, so we rejoice in his coming in the flesh and
look for his appearing in glory. By your Word

and Holy Spirit, make us ready to receive
Christ truly as our only Lord and Savior, and
with thankfulness to praise him, now and
forever. Amen
O Lord our God, make us watchful and keep
us faithful as we await the coming of your Son
our Lord; that when he shall appear he may
find us not sleeping in sin, but active in his
service and joyful in his praise, for the glory of
your holy Name. Amen.
Lord God, as we prepare for Christmas may we
not fail to prepare ourselves for this great
festival. Help us, amid all the busyness of these
days, to find time to think of what Christmas
really means: of your love for the world, of the
coming of the promised Redeemer, of the
mystery of the Word made flesh; and like Mary
may we treasure these things and ponder them
in our hearts, so that we may be ready to join in
the joyful worship of Christmas Day, the glory
of your name. Amen.

Sylvia joins me in extending to each of you prayers for a blessed Advent season and anglorious Christmas.
Be well,
Be safe,
Be thankful,
for we have been richly blessed.
