Dear Friends,
With the coming of the Fourth Sunday in Lent,
we can begin to see that there is a light at the end
of our Lenten tunnel.
On this Sunday, we will retire -- briefly -- the
solemn purple vestments and altar hangings of
Lent in favor of their rose-colored counterparts.
We will once again see flowers on the altar,
flowers that have been missing these past four
weeks and more, and they will remind us that the
time for rejoicing is almost here.
In two weeks we will mark Palm Sunday, the day
on which we recall our Lord’s celebratory and
triumphal entry into Jerusalem and we, too, will
celebrate. And then, of course, we will re-enter the
solemnity of the season as our attention turns to
Holy Week.
We have a full schedule of services planned again
this year, and I hope you will all mark your
calendars.
